Our brand new Lemon Cutie™ won the Fleuroselect 2023 Gold Medal for Novelty!  Seven years in the making, unique in its short habit, and bursting with lemon flowers on multiple branches,  Lemon Cutie™ is stunning in your garden or in pots.  We grew Lemon Cutie™ as a solitary specimen plant in our rock garden, and passers-by stopped and asked us what plant it is.  They couldn’t believe it was a sunflower.  Lemon Cutie™ readily grows into a knee-high bushy plant covered with semi-double flowers that hold their freshness unusually long.  It is suitable for direct sowing or from plugs.  We have used it in mass plantings, borders, and in pots.  The flowers are pollenless with a natural production of nectar for pollinating insects.  There are countless ways to use Lemon Cutie™ either by itself or in mixtures with our other short habit sunflower varieties.  Lemon Cutie™ truly is in a world of its own – a solid gold world!
